Russian tennis player Khachanov announced plans to compete at the Olympics in Paris
Russian tennis player Karen Khachanov spoke about possible participation in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Sport Express reports this.
According to the athlete, he plans to compete in competitions because he considers them important. “But, again, there is still a lot of time before the final rules, regulations, and what will need to be signed are announced. There are a lot of technical issues that will need to be resolved,” Khachanov said.
Earlier, several Russian tennis players announced their desire to compete at the Games. Among them are Daniil Medvedev, Andrei Rublev and Daria Kasatkina.
In December 2023, Russians and Belarusians were allowed to participate in the Olympics in Paris in the tournament as individual neutral athletes. At the same time, athletes who support a special operation in Ukraine, as well as those who have connections with the armed forces or security agencies of Russia and Belarus, will not be allowed to participate in the competition. In addition, representatives of team sports will miss the tournament.
