The Russian Dota 2 team 1win was not allowed to participate in the ESL One tournament in Birmingham, England. This was reported on the competition page on the social network. X.
Organizers said the team would not play at the tournament due to visa issues. 1win includes Russians Nikita Munkushi~ Chepurnykh, Ilya CHIRA_JUNIOR Chirtsov, Alexander Cloud Zakharov, Georgy swedenstrong Zainalabidov and Belarusian Egor RESPECT Prokurat.
At the same time, eSports coach Timur Achilles Kulmukhambetov denied the organizers’ information about problems with documents. “Our entire team now has ready-made visas and passports for the trip. ESL took the slot from 1win and gave it to OG,” he said in his Telegram channel.
The tournament in Birmingham will take place from April 22 to 28. Russian teams BB Team and Team Spirit will take part in it. The prize fund of the tournament is one million dollars.
In January, the International Esports Federation suspended its membership in the Russian Computer Sports Federation. The decision was made after a complaint from the Ukrainian side.
