Tarasova called Pozdnyakov’s words about foreign agent tennis players ugly

Honored figure skating coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova responded to the head of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) Stanislav Pozdnyakov, who called Russian tennis players wishing to compete at the Paris Olympics a team of foreign agents. Her words are quoted by Metaratings.

The specialist called the functionary’s words unacceptable, incorrect and ugly. “We want to ensure that all athletes are allowed to participate in the Olympics, but Pozdnyakov calls those who have already been admitted foreign agents. How is this anyway?” – said Tarasova.

Pozdnyakov criticized Russian tennis players earlier on April 5. He noted that tennis players living and earning money abroad claim that they play for themselves and condemn the policies of their country and the Central Military District.

On April 5, the first racket of Russia, Daniil Medvedev, said that he did not agree with the head of the All-Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation, Irina Viner, who called neutral athletes homeless. Earlier, Medvedev, as well as Andrei Rublev and Daria Kasatkina announced their desire to compete at the Games.
