Atlético-MG’s rival, Caracas is in a bitter crisis and will debut a new coach

Atlético-MG debuts in the Copa Libertadores this Thursday (4) against an opponent in crisis, Caracas, who arrives for this first match in the competition with a new coach.

Coordinator of Caracas’ youth teams, Henry Meléndez was announced on Sunday as a replacement for former Venezuelan national team coach Leo González, after a run of eight games without a win.

The biggest winner of the Venezuelan Championship (12 titles), Caracas runs the risk of being left out of the final quadrangular of the current edition, in which the team occupies 11th place.

“It will be essential to bring each of the players to their best version, because the change has to be made in a very short period of time,” said Meléndez.

The match, which starts at 7pm (Brasília time), corresponds to Group G, which also features Rosario Central from Argentina and Peñarol from Uruguay, who will also face each other this Thursday, at the same time.
