Russian Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin became the first star of the day in the National Hockey League (NHL). This was reported on the league website.
In the regular season match against the New Jersey Devils (6:3), Malkin scored a double and an assist. The forward was also recognized as the first star of the meeting.
The second star of the day was Canadian forward of the Vegas Golden Knights Jonathan Marchessault. He had a goal and two assists in a 6-3 home win over the Vancouver Canucks.
