Inter Miami coach Gerardo Martino remained doubtful this Tuesday about Lionel Messi’s presence in the clash against Mexican Monterrey in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Concachampions.
The Argentine star participated with the training group this Tuesday and Martino did not rule out that he will be ready for the duel on Wednesday, in front of his fans, at Chase Stadium, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
“Tomorrow (Wednesday) we will decide, today I don’t know. There are still 24 hours to go”, Martino limited himself to saying at the press conference before the duel.
“We have to think that it is only at the beginning of April and it is just beginning, we cannot put the condition of our players at risk,” he said.

Messi, 36, has been out since March 13 due to a thigh injury that left him out of the next three rounds of MLS and two friendlies for the Argentine national team.
In recent weeks, the striker has carried out specific recovery work with the aim of being ready for the quarter-finals of the Champions Cup, a tournament that offers the winner a place in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
