Mariezkurrena will not play Manomanista and will be replaced by Urrutikoetxea

The Navarrese pelota player Jon Mariezkurrena will not participate in the Manomanista Championship 2024 after not recovering from his discomfort in his right hand and will be replaced by the Biscayan Mikel Urrutikoetxea in the main tournament of the Basque pelota season.
As reported by the Baiko Pilota company, the Berriozar defender has decided not to take part in the championship after carrying out a final test this Monday at the Labrit fronton in Pamplona in which he felt “quite an improvement” in his physical problems, but not yet in conditions to play a match of this demand.
The Bilbao promoter has replaced Mariezkurrena by Urrutikoetxea2015 champion, who on Saturday lost in one of the previous ones by 22-17 against Joanes Bakaikoa.
The Manomanista will start next Friday at the Atano III fronton in San Sebastián with the first match of the round of 16 between Javier Zabala from Rioja and a rival who will be known at the presentation of the tournament to be held on Wednesday (11:00 am) in the Urdaibai auditorium in Ekoetxea, in Busturia.
