Omsk hockey club “Avangard” appointed Sergei Zvyagin as head coach
Omsk hockey club “Avangard” announced on its website the appointment of a new head coach.
The team was led by Sergei Zvyagin. The contract was signed for two years – until the end of the 2025/2026 season. Previously, Zvyagin worked with the club’s goalkeepers and over the past two weeks has been acting head coach.
“The skillful combination of experience, passion for his work, and emotions at the right moment showed us: Zvyagin is exactly the person we need as the head coach of Avangard. He is respected by the team and fans, and he is ready for this step,” the club’s statement noted.
On March 19, the team fired head coach Mikhail Kravets. This happened during the quarterfinal playoff series of the Gagarin Cup, which Avangard eventually lost to Lokomotiv with a score of 3-4.
