Lakers player LeBron James on retirement: not much left
American forward of the Los Angeles Lakers club LeBron James answered a question about his retirement. His words are quoted by The Athletic.
“I don’t have much left. Obviously I’m already on the other side of the hill. I’m not going to play for another 21 years, that’s for sure,” the 39-year-old said, adding that he doesn’t know exactly when he’ll stop playing.
In March 2024, James became the first in the history of the National Basketball Association (NBA) to cross the 40 thousand points mark. On February 8, 2023, he became the top scorer in league history, breaking the record of former Laker Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387 points).
James is a four-time NBA champion (2012, 2013, 2016, 2020). He was named the most valuable player of the regular season and playoff series four times. As a member of the US team, the athlete won the Olympic Games in 2008 and 2012. In 2021, he also became the first billionaire basketball player.
