Ivan Fedotov on his move to Philadelphia: I want to help the club reach the NHL playoffs
Russian goalkeeper Ivan Fedotov commented on his move to the National Hockey League (NHL) Philadelphia Flyers. His words are quoted on the team’s website.
“It’s taken a long time, but I’m finally here with Philadelphia. I’m very excited but happy to be here. These two years have been really difficult for me,” he said, adding that he wants to help the team reach the NHL playoffs.
The team introduced a new player on March 29. On March 28, the management of CSKA Moscow terminated the contract with Fedotov, who served in the army a year earlier.
In the summer of 2022, Fedotov’s attempt to move to Philadelphia failed. The Russian was supposed to go to the United States, but he was detained on suspicion of evading military service. After this, the athlete was sent to serve in the Russian Navy.
