The Intelligence services of Tajikistan have reported this Friday the arrest of fifteen terrorism suspects that they planned to attack the city of Vajdat and possibly related to last week’s attacks at a concert hall in Moscowwhich has left 144 dead and 180 injured.

The suspects have been arrested in Vajdat, just outside the country’s capital, Dushanbe. Initially, nine were arrested on suspicion of participation in the Moscow attacks and links to the Islamic State, according to a source from the Tajik Intelligence services to the local agency Asia Plus.

Subsequently, the arrest of six others has been confirmed, although they are investigating whether they have any type of relationship with the first suspects. “It is still unknown if they were all part of the same cell or if each one would like to carry out a terrorist attack in Russia and Tajikistan separately“said a local media source.

Already in Russia, at least a dozen people have been arrested for these attacks, including the four perpetrators, of Tajik nationality. The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for these attacks, although Moscow persists in pointing out the possible participation of kyiv in some way.

The day before, the authorities of neighboring Kyrgyzstan have warned that terrorist groups are recruiting people through social networks and messaging platforms to carry out “terrorist actions” in Russia.
