The KHL playoff match between Avangard and Lokomotiv was canceled due to a terrorist attack
The fourth match of the second round of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) playoffs between Avangard Omsk and Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, which was supposed to take place on March 24, has been cancelled. This was reported on the league website.
The cause was a terrorist attack that occurred on March 22 at the Crocus City Hall concert hall in the Moscow region. The meeting between the teams will be rescheduled to another date, which the KHL will inform further.
Earlier, another KHL match was canceled. On March 23, the second round of the playoffs between Spartak Moscow and Metallurg Magnitogorsk will not take place.
Crocus City Hall was attacked on Friday evening, March 22. At least five terrorists armed with machine guns entered the building and opened targeted fire on those inside. According to preliminary data from the FSB, 40 people became victims of the terrorist attack, and more than a hundred were injured.
