Manchester City beats Newcastle and advances to the FA Cup semi-finals

Manchester City and Newcastle faced each other, this Saturday, at the Etihad Stadium, in a duel valid for the quarter-finals of the FA Cup. Bernardo Silva scored the two goals that guaranteed the home team a 2-0 victory.

With the result, Guardiola’s team secured a place in the tournament’s semi-finals. Eddie Howe’s team said goodbye to the competition.

Manchester City’s next challenge is scheduled for the 31st of this month, at 12:30 pm (Brasília time), in a duel against Arsenal, in the English Championship. Newcastle, in turn, returns to the field a day earlier, at 9:30 am, against West Ham, in the same competition.

It didn’t take long for City to open the scoring. In the 12th minute of the first half, Bernardo Silva received the ball, invaded the area and finished on goal. The ball was also deflected off the marker to surprise and cover up the goalkeeper.

Bernardo Silva scored again in the 30th minute, when he went up and finished. Once again, the ball deflected off the opponent and deceived archer Dúbravka.
