It is at that point when the assault on Urkiola, which is the first 1st category port to be promoted in this edition of the Itzulia Basque Country. It is a mythical port, which hardly needs an introduction; We will only say that its 5.5 kilometers of ascent have an average slope of 9.4%. Urkiola has been a silent witness to great and historic battles, and the fans hope to enjoy, on this occasion, a new installment of them.

Otxandio and Dima They arrive after coming down from Urkiola, whose banner is at kilometer 87.8. At 123.7, at Amorebieta-Etxano, the first special sprint of this fifth stage is held. In the next 40 kilometers, the passes through Amorebieta-Etxano and the climbs to Muniketa follow one another, which scores at kilometers 137.9 and 163.7. Muniketa, 3rd, is tough, as it scores an average slope of 7.3% in its 3.5 kilometers of ascent.

The last three kilometers of the stage present a downward trajectory, until the finish line in Amorebieta-Etxano, where it will be revealed which cyclist takes the victory on this fifth day of competition and, in addition, who is the rider who will start with the yellow jersey in the next day’s stage, the last of this Itzulia.
