Journalist Ivan Karpov: the trial of Quincy Promes in the UAE was postponed for a week
The trial of Spartak legionnaire Quincy Promes in the case of leaving the scene of an accident, scheduled for March 5, has been postponed for a week. This became known to journalist Ivan Karpov, who published information on his Telegram channel.
According to the source, the hearing was postponed due to the fact that the judge was unable to go to work for personal reasons. Promes’ lawyers are now preparing documents for the trial to take place in the next few days.
On February 29, Promes was detained at border control at Dubai Airport for being involved in an accident and leaving the scene. Later it was clarified that the football player would not be sentenced to prison in the UAE – he would be punished with a fine. As a result, he will have to be able to return to Moscow.
On February 14, an Amsterdam court sentenced Promes in absentia to six years in prison for drug smuggling. In the summer of 2023, he received 18 months in prison in his homeland for attacking his brother with a knife.
