The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) appointed Gerardo Arturo López Gonzales as the new National Superintendent of Customs and Tax Administration, as specified in Supreme Resolution No. 008-2024-EF. Before his appointment, the new head of SUNAT served as National Mayor of Process Management of the entity.

His resume details that López Gonzales is an economist from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos and a Master in Public Finance and Administration from the Institute of Fiscal Studies of Spain. Likewise, he has postgraduate studies in tax management, tax law, administrative law and management skills.

Lopez Gonzales He is a career official of the collecting entity, having been in public service for 19 years. He has held various management positions such as Head of the Control and Closing Division, Compliance Control Manager, Regulatory Process Manager and National Process Management Mayor.
