Bidaideak was defeated by Amiab Albacete (88-69) in the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey wheelchair basketball. Therefore, the Biscayan team remains no chance of winning the title.
The Bilbao team entered the match badly. Bidaideak responded quickly to Albacete’s first basket (2-2), but from that moment on the Castilla La Mancha team was much superior. Thus, the people from La Mancha opened a gap on the scoreboard and ended the first ten minutes with a favorable result of 25-14.
In the second quarter, things did not improve for Bidaideak. Those led by Adrián Yánez were not able to stop the rival’s attacks and they were not able to overcome their defense. Therefore, Albacete increased its lead and reached half-time with a 15-point lead (49-34).
After the restart the script of the game changed, but for the worse for Bidaideak. The rival’s superiority was overwhelming, the Bilbao team was left without answers and Albacete left the match doomed in the third quarter (75-42).
The last ten minutes were a formality. Albacete’s victory was seen as a verdict and Bidaideak tried to play in the best way possible. In the end, victory for Albacete 88-69.
