The Estonian Hockey Association has suspended the licenses of participants in the Future Games in Russia

The Estonian Hockey Association (EHU) has suspended the licenses of all players participating in the Future Games taking place in Russia. RIA Novosti reports this with reference to Delfi.

The EHS stated that we are talking about hockey players registered in Estonian leagues. “Representatives of Estonia Vladimir Bashkirov, Dmitry Kuznetsov and Otar Sakhokia were hockey players of the Tartu club “Valk 494”. Kuznetsov has experience playing for the Estonian national team,” the organization noted.

Previously, another country, Latvia, introduced the same sanctions against its athletes who competed at the Games of the Future. The Latvian team Baltic Select played at the physical hockey tournament as part of the competition.

The Games of the Future take place in Kazan from February 21 to March 3. The international tournament features 21 innovative disciplines. They are based on a combination of physical activity, modern technology and the digital environment.
