The ROC announced discrimination against Russians before the 2024 Olympic Games

The ROC did not rule out the introduction of additional conditions for the admission of Russians to the 2024 Games

The Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) commented on the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to reject their appeal against the provisional suspension imposed by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The ROC statement is posted on Telegram.

“This CAS decision is further evidence that civil and sports discrimination directed against Russians has reached unprecedented proportions on the eve of the Games in Paris,” the ROC noted. According to the Russian side, CAS ignored numerous legal arguments and rewrote the IOC’s arguments verbatim.

The ROC also did not rule out the introduction of additional conditions for the admission of Russians to the 2024 Olympics in a neutral status. “Even in their regard, the IOC is making every effort to minimize the number of invitees,” the organization emphasized.

Previously, CAS ruled that the IOC executive committee did not violate the principles of legality and equality by removing the ROC.

On October 12, 2023, the IOC suspended the ROC until further notice due to the inclusion of representatives of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions into the organization.
