The IOC responded to the CAS decision on the ROC appeal

The IOC was pleased with the decision of CAS to reject the appeal of the ROC

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has responded to the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to reject the appeal of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC). TASS reports this.

The Russian side disputed the suspension of membership in the IOC, CAS sided with the international organization. The IOC noted that it was pleased with this decision.

Previously, CAS ruled that the IOC executive committee did not violate the principles of legality and equality by removing the ROC.

On October 12 last year, the IOC suspended the ROC until further notice due to the inclusion of representatives of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions in the organization. “The ROC can no longer act as a National Olympic Committee and receive funds from the IOC,” explained IOC Communications Director Mark Adams.
