Russian fan Pavel Kosov, who was imprisoned in France, was released on parole
Russian football fan Pavel Kosov, who had been in a French prison since 2018, was released on parole. Mash reported this with reference to the fan’s mother.
Kosovo’s lawyer informed the relative about his release. Now the Russian side is dealing with the issue of his return to his homeland.
In December last year, it was reported that the lawyer sent a request for the fan’s parole in 2022, but European authorities refused to grant it. In France, the impossibility of Kosovo returning to Russia was explained by sanctions and the lack of direct flights between the countries.
In 2020, a French court sentenced Kosovo to ten years in prison. He was detained due to his participation in the riots in Marseille at Euro 2016. According to investigators, the Russian caused serious bodily harm to an English fan.
