This Saturday, the Barcelona beat Elche, at home, 3-2, in the 17th round of the spanish championship. The match, played at the Camp Nou, featured goals from Ferran Jutgla, Gavi and Nico for the home team. Visitors swung their nets with Tete Morente and Pere Milla.
With the result, Barça occupies the 7th position and has 27 points. Elche, who is 15, is 16th in the table.
Barcelona returns to the field on Tuesday, at 5:30 pm (GMT), when they face the Sevilla out of home. Elche, in turn, receives Granada, on January 2, 2022, at 12:15 pm.
The game – The team led by Xavi Hernández dominated possession, cornered Francisco Rodriguez’s Elche early on and, as a result, scored two goals in a short period of time. After Ousmane Dembélé took a corner kick, Jutgla went up and opened the header at 16.
Three minutes later, Gavi overcame two markers and, from the edge of the area, hit low, on the goalkeeper’s right corner. The ball hit the crossbar and then swung the net to confirm a great goal from the 17-year-old midfielder.
The complementary stage, on the other hand, had a lightning draw by Elche. Visitors scored their first at the Camp Nou at 17, with Morente. He was fired by Lucas Boye, who prevented the ball from going out on the sideline, and finished high, in the right corner of Marc-André ter Stegen. A minute later, the winger crossed to Milla, who was free, who just headed into the back of the line.
However, Barça came back ahead of the scoreboard in the 40th minute, with Nico. Gavi made a low cross and the midfielder, inside the area, finished high, from the left corner, to seal the victory by 3-2 at the Camp Nou.
