Arsenal beat Leeds with Martinelli’s show

This Saturday, opening the 18th round of the Premier League, Arsenal had the brilliance of Gabriel Martinelli to defeat Leeds United by 4-1, away from home.

Despite being acting far from their domain, the Gunners started the first stage with everything. With just 16 minutes, Martinelli took advantage of the ball left in the area and bet Bonito to open the score in Elland Road. At 28, the Brazilian’s star returned to shine. The forward received it in depth and touched the goalkeeper’s exit to expand.

With 42 minutes, there was still time for Arsenal to score another one. Saka was fired inside the area, cut the marking and hit the corner to forward the victory of the London team.

In the 29th minute of the second half, Leeds even took a discount, with a penalty kick by Raphinha, but the home team’s reaction was interrupted by another goal from the visitors, this time from Smith Rowe, at 40.

With the result, the Gunners settled in fourth place in the tournament, with 32 points. Leeds, on the other hand, is going through a troubled time. Coach Marcelo Bielsa’s team is in 16th, with 16 points, just five more than Burnley, the first team within the relegation zone.

Remember that this was the only game this Saturday in the Premier League, the other five that were scheduled for this afternoon were suspended due to the outbreak of covid-19 cases at clubs.
