Russian diver Bruenok spoke about the harassment of coach Muyakin
Russian diver Maria Bruenok spoke about harassment by Russian national team coach Pavel Muyakin. Her words are quoted by Metaratings.
The 19-year-old athlete noted that the 62-year-old specialist during training began to show increased interest in her that was not related to sports. She also stated that Muyakin sent her messages of an erotic nature and an attempt at physical force.
“I started telling him that I like smart and eloquent girls like you, I really like you. That is, a conversation of a personal nature. And then he kissed me on the lips. I didn’t say a word, I didn’t want to do anything in my head. I just turned around and left,” Bruenok said.
According to the source, Muyakin is currently suspended from work. The incident was reported to the Russian Ministry of Sports, which is conducting the investigation.
Bruenok is the winner of the 2023 International University Sports Festival. She is also a medalist at the Russian Championship.
