Bubnov: Krasnodar fulfilled all obligations to Akhmetov, who left for Zenit
Vice-president of Krasnodar Valery Bubnov responded to accusations of broken promises made by Irakli Gegechkori, the agent of midfielder Ilzat Akhmetov, who left for Zenit. His words are quoted by Sport Express.
Bubnov said that the number of lies exceeded the norm. According to the functionary, Krasnodar fulfilled all obligations to the player. “When we made the first offer for Akhmetov, there was silence and a fax just arrived that he was moving to Zenit. We made him an offer to which we did not receive a response,” he noted.
Earlier, Gegechkori reproached Krasnodar for not fulfilling the agreements. “We were promised that Akhmetov would be used either in the “eight” position or in the “ten” position. But they didn’t keep their promises there – he didn’t play a single match in these two positions,” he said.
Zenit announced Akhmetov’s transfer on January 9. The contract with the 26-year-old midfielder runs until the end of the 2025/2026 season with an option to extend for another year. This season, the player played 21 matches in all competitions, scored three goals and made two assists.
