The Biarritz International Documentary Film Festival, Fipadocwill celebrate its sixth edition between January 19 and 27, and will screen 160 documentaries from 50 countries, which address topics such as human rights violations in the US, Kurdistan, Ukraine and Chad.

At Fipadoc, Basque filmmakers Itziar Leemans, Beñat Gereka Bikuña, Iker Esteibarlanda and Andrés Salaberri will also present their documentaries.

Itziar Leemans will present “Olatuak”, which tells of therapy sessions featuring women victims of torture in the Basque Country, in the Histoires d’Europe section, while Beñat Gereka Bikuña will do the same with her work “Itsasoak bizitzen gaitu”, about Getaria and the sea, in the Goût de Doc section.

Furthermore, within the Olympiadocs section, created in connection with the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Iker Esteibarlanda will present “Le lien invisible”, in which he talks about the relationship between a blind athlete and her guide. The Navarrese Andres Salaberri, for his part, will compete in the short film section with “Ardiak, ezkontza eta kontrabandoa”, which tells the story of the Marisco, former smugglers and ranchers who celebrate their diamond wedding.
