Forward Ovechkin did not score in the 11th NHL game in a row and updated his personal record
Russian forward and captain of the Washington Capitals Alexander Ovechkin extended his goalless streak in the National Hockey League (NHL). This was reported by a Lenta.ru correspondent.
In the regular season match against the Philadelphia Flyers (3:4 in shootouts), the forward was not effective. Ovechkin failed to score in the 11th consecutive game and repeated his personal anti-record for games without goals.
Ovechkin ranks second on the list of the best snipers in NHL history behind Canadian Wayne Gretzky. The 38-year-old Russian has 827 goals, leaving him 67 goals behind the leader.
Ovechkin has been playing in the NHL since 2005, and throughout his overseas career he has played for Washington. Together with the team, the Russian won the Stanley Cup in 2018.
