Although he has another wonderful year behind him, he did not receive the most important individual award in football. Two weeks ago, the Golden Ball awarded by “France Football” went to. At the same gala, however, the Pole was honored, receiving the award for the best striker of the year.
Lewandowski was appreciated more by the chapter of the Italian daily “Tuttosport”, which awarded our striker with the Golden Player award. This is the second time in a row such a distinction for Lewandowski. The results of the plebiscite were announced at the end of November, and the captain of the Polish national team overtook Chelsea and Messi, who finished third.

The “Tuttosport” plebiscite differs from the Golden Ball not only in prestige, but also in its chapter. While journalists from all over the world vote in the first one, former football legends decide about the second prize. And so the Lewandowski distinction was awarded, among others, by Andrij Shevchenko, Pavel Nedved, Samuel Eto’o, Edwin van der Sar and Lothar Matthaeus.
– The voices of these remarkable champions who know the realities of football and the pitch very well are very valuable. I am glad that they chose me. Their assessment is reliable and objective – Lewandowski told the daily, which will receive the award at the gala in Turin on Monday.
And he added: – It is certainly not a consolation after I did not win the Golden Ball. This is an important distinction. It is unbelievable that I was chosen by such legends.
