Nurmagomedov said the UFC offered him $40 million to return
Former champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Khabib Nurmagomedov named the amount offered to him for returning to the Octagon. His words are quoted by MMA Mania.
“It’s not easy to say no to 20-30-40 million dollars. But to me that’s not all that makes sense. It’s the most important. This is not an easy decision, but if I have decided, then that’s it,” Nurmagomedov said. He emphasized that he never regretted ending his sports career.
On October 20, Nurmagomedov announced his final break with MMA. The athlete stated that he had completely abandoned everything related to mixed martial arts and asked for understanding of his decision.
Nurmagomedov defended his UFC lightweight title three times before retiring in 2020. In total, the athlete won 29 victories in 29 professional fights in mixed martial arts.
