French Marseille condemned the fans who threw stones at the Lyon bus

Marseille responded to the incident that occurred before the match with Lyon in the French Championship. The statement is available on the team’s website.

Marseille condemned the behavior of fans who attacked a rival bus. “The club condemns aggressive behavior that has no place in the world of football and society,” the team said in a statement. Marseille expressed regret that the football festival was ruined “because of a handful of thoughtless people.”

Earlier on October 29, it was reported that Marseille fans threw stones at a Lyon bus on the way to the Vélodrome stadium. As a result of the attack, Lyon head coach Fabio Grosso was injured by shrapnel. His assistant Raffaele Longo was also injured.

The match, which was scheduled for 22:45 on October 29, was decided to be postponed.
