Guberniev: maybe Serena Williams, who cut Arina Sabalenka out of the general photo, is a fool
Sports commentator Dmitry Guberniev appreciated the fact that former world number one American Serena Williams cut out Belarusian tennis player Aryna Sabalenka from a joint photo. His words are quoted by Sport Express.
Guberniev called the athlete a fool. “Maybe, of course, Williams doesn’t know how to post photos, maybe she has a grudge against Sabalenka, maybe she’s just too smart or has the wrong hands. Or he simply doesn’t respect Sabalenka,” he also suggested.
The photo was taken at the opening of the Italian-style restaurant Casadonna in Miami. Both athletes posted identical photos from the party on their social media pages, but Williams zoomed in so that the Belarusian tennis player would not be included in the frame.
Serena Williams holds the record for most Grand Slam singles titles with 23 titles. The athlete also has four Olympic gold medals (three of them for winning competitions in doubles). She retired from acting in 2022.
Sabalenka is the world number one in singles. She has won the 2023 Australian Open in singles, as well as the 2021 Australian Open and 2019 US Open in doubles.
