Russian football player Panyukov said that he encountered Russophobia in Lithuania

Russian footballer Andrei Panyukov spoke about the attitude towards Russians in Lithuania. He is quoted by Sport24.

Panyukov stated that in 2017, when he played in the Lithuanian Altantas, he encountered Russophobia. The athlete shared that he was not allowed into some establishments and refused to communicate with him in Russian.

“Or the situation. We walk down the street and chat. In front is a girl of about 30. She turns to us: “Why are you speaking Russian here?” – “We are Russians!” “So go back to Russia,” said Panyukov.

On September 15, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda revoked the citizenship of World and European Figure Skating Championship medalist Margarita Drobyazko. The reason was the athlete’s performance in Tatiana Navka’s show in Russia. The figure skater stated that she intends to appeal this decision.
