Jon Salsamendi stops being the coach of the Orio men’s first team. The Oriotarra coach himself has communicated his decision not to continue in office by letter which was published this Friday, October 20.
With this decision by Salsamendi, the new board of directors of the Orio Rowing Club will have to look for a coach for next season for the men’s team that competes in the Euskolabel League.
The Oriotarra coach adds in his letter that On Tuesday, October 10, he received a phone call and? He communicated his decision not to continue to his family and all the members of the team he led in 2023.
Through the aforementioned writing, Salsamendi wanted to thank the entire community that makes up Orio Arraun Elkartea. He has appreciated the support received from the fans and the club during his 27 seasons in which he has been linked to Orio. He has stressed his gratitude to the two previous directors and has wished the best to the board that has just taken over the reins of the club. Furthermore, he has called for coexistence and wanted to make it clear that this decision should not alter the coexistence of the club.
Now, at 53 years old, Jon Salsamendi is willing to face new challenges in the world of rowing.
