“Who are they protecting you from?”: the head of Dagestan blasted officials driving Kruzaks (video)

The head of Dagestan, Sergei Melikov, criticized local officials who travel everywhere in cars and with guards.

On Friday, a video appeared on the Telegram channel of the administration of the head of Dagestan from a meeting of the commission to increase the revenue side of the republic’s consolidated budget.

“Who are they protecting you from? I can’t understand who they are protecting you from? There is one car with security, there is some car with security in front,” Melikov addressed his subordinates. He also criticized the officials’ habit of driving cars and suggested that they walk more often and communicate with people. “Why don’t you go through the square? Look, you’ll meet a fellow countryman and chat with someone. You see, he will actually present a claim to you, or maybe, on the contrary, he will say thank you,” noted the head of Dagestan.

He also spoke about a curious incident that happened to him in Moscow during a taxi ride. The driver turned out to be a Dagestani. The man, according to Melikov, asked him why he was moving without security. In response, the head of Dagestan said to the taxi driver: “What will you do to me if I get in the car with you now?”

Earlier it was reported that the Ministry of Industry and Trade published a list of cars for officials: “Ladas” and “Muscovites” were included in it.
