Benzema said his children are suffering because of accusations of links to terrorists
The striker of the French national football team and the Saudi Al-Ittihad, Karim Benzema, responded to accusations of links with terrorists. His words were quoted by lawyer Hugh Vigier in an interview with France Info.
“It is my children who suffer because their father is accused of terrorism,” Benzema said. The lawyer noted that the football player did not know what the Muslim Brotherhood organization was (recognized as terrorist in Russia).
On October 18, French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin accused Benzema of having ties to a terrorist organization. “We all know that Mr. Benzema has notorious ties to the Muslim Brotherhood,” Darmanen said.
Previously, Benzema expressed support for the people of Palestine amid the military conflict with Israel. He wrote on social media X that he was praying for the Gazans affected by the bombing.
