Ex-footballer of the Russian national team Bukharov spoke about gambling addiction
Former football player of Zenit, Rubin and the Russian national team Alexander Bukharov admitted that he was addicted to gambling. Match TV reports this.
According to the ex-striker, he developed this hobby at the age of eight. “As a child, I stole money from my mother’s wallet. She worked at the market, and every day I waited for her to come home and take a shower so I could reach into my pocket and take cash from her,” Bukharov said.
The former football player said that he was able to overcome his addiction only thanks to treatment at a rehabilitation center for addictions. “I didn’t succeed the first time, it took more time. Only the second time I was able to do it,” Bukharov added.
The forward won the Russian championship twice each with Zenit and Rubin. As part of the country’s national team, he scored one goal in nine matches.
