Olusegun said that the European championships are not particularly different from the Russian ones
Krasnodar forward Olakunle Olusegun compared the Russian championship with the European ones. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
“The players and teams in the Russian Premier League (RPL) are getting better with every game. In general, every team in the Russian league is good. It seems to me that the European championships and the Russian ones are not particularly different. You can develop both here and there,” said the legionnaire. He noted that it is possible to show good results in Russia too.
Olusegun moved to Krasnodar in August 2021 on loan from Bulgarian Botev. In July 2022, the Nigerian signed a contract with the club until the end of the 2025/2026 season.
On September 12, the head coach of the Russian national team, Valery Karpin, called on Russian players to leave for European clubs. He noted that he advised leaving the RPL many times. The coach added that he feels the difference between the level of the national team players who play in Europe and those who remain at home.
