Fortnite champions deprived of $200 thousand prize due to Russian citizenship

Esportsmen Daniil “Putrick” Abdrakhmanov and Egor “Swizzy” Lusiko lost a prize of two hundred thousand dollars due to Russian citizenship. Sportskeeda reports.

Abdrakhmanov and Lusiko won the Fortnite championship, but Epic Games, which organizes the tournaments, disqualified them and refused to pay the reward. The organization explained this by the fact that the athletes represent a country that is on the list of states with limited access to prizes. “I understand that we cannot play from a banned country, but we played from a country that is allowed to play and receive prizes from tournaments. We live and play from Belarus,” Abdrakhmanov said.
