On Thursday, Portuguese police announced the arrest of 54 Kiev Dynamo fans after clashes with fans of the Benfica on Wednesday night, after the match between the two teams for the Champions League.
Thirteen fans, arrested for “participating in a fight”, were wounded, as was a member of the security forces, Lisbon police said in a statement.
“Some behavior suggests that the meeting between the different groups was previously organized,” added the police, who, according to the statement, fired warning shots after being hit by rocks, bottles and flares.
Benfica beat Dynamo 2-0 and qualified for the round of 16 of the Champions League, while the Ukrainian team was eliminated.
