Zenit coach Tymoshchuk challenged Ukraine’s decision to deprive him of his titles in CAS
Assistant head coach of Zenit Anatoly Timoshchuk challenged the decision of the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) to deprive him of his titles in the International Court of Arbitration (CAS). This is reported on the UAF website.
“The Ukrainian Football Association is working to prepare a position on this case. The date for the CAS meeting on this issue will be set separately,” the UAF commented on the situation.
The UAF revoked Tymoshchuk’s coaching license on March 11. The Ukrainian, who currently works as an assistant to the head coach of Zenit, was stripped of the titles of winner and silver medalist of the Ukrainian Championship, Cup and Super Cup of the country, which he won as part of Shakhtar. In addition, the coach was banned for life from engaging in football activities in Ukraine.
Tymoshchuk played for Zenit from 2007 to 2009, and from 2013 to 2015. Together with the blue-white-blue team, the footballer twice became the champion of Russia and won the UEFA Cup. From 2000 to 2016, Tymoshchuk played 144 matches for the Ukrainian national team, which is a team record. During this time he scored four goals.
