Fitness trainer Olga Derendeyeva spoke on the St. Petersburg TV channel about a way to relieve anxiety.

“When there is stress or some kind of tension, most often cumulative, a person raises his shoulders and presses his neck. It becomes shorter and the tension from the neck goes to the thoracic region. This disrupts breathing. The condition of the diaphragm worsens and problems with the gastrointestinal tract appear. There is also sleep disturbance, ”the expert said.

To combat tension and anxiety, the specialist advised doing breathing exercises. To do this, you need to take a calm deep breath, hold your breath for four counts, then slowly exhale and repeat all over again. Derendeyeva noted that those who have experience with breathing practices can hold their breath to a greater extent.

Also, according to the trainer, self-massage can help. To do this, you need to put your thumbs on the occipital tubercles and massage in a circular motion, make soft massage movements along the neck or rub the earlobes.

Earlier, fitness trainer Eduard Shakula named the best exercises to combat headaches. He stated that yoga and stretching will help relieve muscle spasm and improve the condition, since they are most often aimed at relaxing the neck and back.
