European vice-champion Daniel Grassl stopped cooperation with Eteri Tutberidze
European vice-champion in figure skating Daniel Grassl stopped working with Russian coach Eteri Tutberidze. The athlete announced this on Instagram (the social network is banned in the Russian Federation; belongs to the Meta corporation, which is recognized as extremist in Russia and banned).
“The experience I got in America and in Russia was very useful. Special thanks to Eteri Tutberidze for professional support and teaching,” Grassl said. He previously trained in the US under Olga Ganicheva and Alexei Letov. The skater noted that he will now be engaged in Turin in the group of Edoardo De Bernardis.
Grassl joined the Tutberidze group in January 2022. It was noted that he was interested in cooperating with the Russian specialist on a permanent basis. The head of the Italian Ice Sports Federation, Andrea Gios, then called the decision excellent.
Grassl is the silver medalist of the 2022 European Championship. This season, he won the British Grand Prix, took sixth place in the continental championship and 12th in the world.
