Gabriel Guevara Arrested During Venice Festival Over Sexual Assault

According to the Venetian daily “La Nuova Venezia”, ​​the Italian police arrested the Spanish actor Gabriel Guevara. The 22-year-old allegedly committed sexual assault. As is known, an international arrest warrant had been issued for him earlier.

According to reports from the weekly “Variety”, he came to Lido, where he was to receive the award for the best youngster. Its founder was supposed to be Filming Italy, but due to the detention, it withdrew its decision until the case was clarified.

It was not difficult for the police to determine where Guevara was, because he himself boasted about his journey on Instagram. A man has been arrested in connection with an alleged sexual assault in France. The local authorities issued an international warrant. The actor is waiting for the decision of the appeals court, which must first consider the case and then extradite him.

Representatives immediately reacted to the information regarding the arrest. In the statement we can read that although the situation coincided with the festival, Gabriel Guevara was not invited to this film event.

“In light of press articles appearing on various websites regarding the arrest of the Spanish actor Gabriel Guevara in Venice, the Biennale hereby clarifies that his presence in Venice was not related to any events or productions related to the 80th Venice International Film Festival.”

Gabriel Guevara gained international fame thanks to his role in the movie My Fault from Amazon Prime Video. However, he was to receive the award for his performance in the Spanish version of the series for “Skam”. According to Variety, journalists were unable to contact the actor’s manager for comment.
