The Guardian: Liverpool refused to let Salah go to Al Ittihad
It became known about the refusal of Liverpool to release the Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Salah in the Saudi Al-Ittihad. It is reported by The Guardian.
According to the publication, Al-Ittihad offered more than 90 million euros for the midfielder, which would be the most expensive deal for the Saudi Arabian championship. It was noted that Salah’s teams and representatives were negotiating a transition to the summer transfer window, but in the end, the British did not want to part with the football player.
Earlier in August, beIN Sports said that Salah agreed to move to Al Ittihad. Before that, there was information that the Saudis promised to make the midfielder the highest paid player in the league.
Salah has been with Liverpool since 2017. Together with the team, he won the Champions League, the Premier League, the Cup and the Super Cup of the country. In the 2022/2023 season, the forward played 38 matches for the club, scored 19 goals and made 12 assists.
