The Basque Anti-Doping Agency made in 2022 a total of 321 controls in 85 missions, the highest figure in its history. Five athletes were sanctioned for positive cases, as reported this Wednesday by the Department of Culture, Language Policy and the Basque Government Spokesperson.
Of the 85 missions that were carried out last year, 64 were carried out for sports events, in competition, and 17 for training. Thus, a total of 288 samples were collected in competition and 33 out of it.
6 adverse analytical results were detected. Penalties have been imposed in five of them. In the sixth case, after an adverse analytical result for Methylphenidate (Group S-6 Stimulants), a medical authorization was presented and the file was closed.
