Manchester City, new leader of the Premier League after beating Watford

The ‘Citizens’ won 3-1 on the road and took advantage of Chelsea’s defeat to place themselves at the top of the English championship.

Manchester City had the opportunity to position themselves this Saturday for the first time this season leading the Premier League and did not let it escape. Pep Guardiola’s men beat Watford (1-3) comfortably, and a superb Bernardo Silva, and took advantage of Chelsea’s puncture to open a gap in the table.

It has cost them fifteen days, but they are already on the way to repeating the title. City jumped to Vicarage Road knowing Chelsea’s loss to West Ham United and Liverpool’s suffering to beat Wolverhampton Wanderers and they made it that much simpler.

In the third minute they were already ahead, when Raheem Sterling finished off completely alone at the far post a Phil Foden delivery. Third goal in the last five games for the English winger, who has regained Guardiola’s confidence.

Like a Bernardo Silva who is at a very high level and who extended the advantage after half an hour with a shot with practically no angle.

And there was still the best of the Portuguese, who this week the Spanish coach described as the best in the Premier. In case there were doubts about the victory of the Sky Blues, caught the ball on the left flank, slashed inward and put it to sleep in the squad.

Bernardo accumulates seven so many in this Premier, the same, for example, as Sadio Mané.

Although not everything is good news for Guardiola’s men, who have yet to refine their defense after four straight games receiving a goal. The Colombian Cucho Hernández cut distances with 1-3 when he finished off a shot from himself to the post, and Joshua King had a very good option for 2-3, showing that this City still has room for improvement.

But even so, Citizens they left London with three points that leaves them as leaders, with a point of advantage over Liverpool and two against Chelsea. Watford continues immersed in the fight not to be relegated and right now they are saving thirteen points, three more than the tail treble, Burnley, Newcastle United and Norwich City. (D)
