Axel Laurance was proclaimed world champion in the sub’23 category of road cycling after prevailing in said test of the Cycling World Championships 2023 from Glasgow (Scotland).

Laurance was the best in the course of 168.4 kilometers that separates Loch Lomond and Glasgow. He arrived escaped to the final kilometersheld on to the lead until the end and He didn’t let the win slip away.

Behind, the chasing quintet did not agree to hunt down the French. Laurance had to suffer, but crossed the finish line in first position and with a 3-second lead over the chasing group.

Therefore, the second and third place were decided in the quintet sprint. In the end, the Portuguese António Morgado was second and Slovakian Martin Svrcek third. The fourth place corresponded to the British Jack Rootkin-Gray, and the fifth to the Italian Lorenzo Milesi.

As far as Basque cyclists are concerned, Enekoitz Azparren did not finish the test.
