Star Lionel Messi will start on the bench in his first game for Inter Miami, this Friday, in the opening of the Leagues Cup against Cruz Azul, from Mexico.
Messi, 36, started training with the new team earlier this week. Football fans expect the Argentine star to perform for a few minutes in front of his new fans at the DRV PNK stadium in Fort Lauderdale.
Veteran Spanish midfielder Sergio Busquets, recently hired by Inter Miami, also does not appear among the starting lineup of the team coached by Argentine Gerardo Martino.
