Hydrangeas purchased in pots, oh well developed root systems, you can plant throughout the season, although spring or autumn is undoubtedly the best time (September or October). Regardless of the season, the most important thing is that you do it as soon as possible after purchase, on a cloudy but not too cold day. Just remember that they do not tolerate low temperatures wellso in the case of spring or autumn planting, make sure that they are not threatened by frost.

How to plant hydrangeas? Start with the right position

When looking for the right place to plant hydrangeas, choose one that will be sunny or slightly shaded, and above all sheltered from the wind. Thanks to this, it will grow beautifully and luxuriantly. The soil in which you plant it is also important. Put on permeable, fertile and acidic soil with a pH between 4.5 and 5.5. Before you start planting, thoroughly clear the site of weeds and then dig the soil so that it is properly loosened. Water the hydrangea itself abundantly. Only then transplant the bush into the ground.

How to care for hydrangea after planting? Use a clever trick

it is quite demanding in terms of watering and likes moist, but not overflowing soil. Therefore, it is a good practice to form a delicate mound, i.e. basin around the bush. Do it right after planting, and it will easily hold water, which will regularly water the plant. Mulching, e.g. with a layer of pine bark or needles, will also work well. Except that do not forget to water it regularly and abundantly, especially during the period of intensive growth, i.e. in spring and summerwhen it starts to bloom. Also, keep it hydrated during the dry season and water it up to 3 times a week. Thanks to this, it will quickly shower with dense and colorful flowers.
