In the early hours of Thursday to Friday, three games moved the second day of the Women’s World Cup. For Group C, Spain debuted with a victory over Costa Rica by 3-0, in Wellington, New Zealand.
The Spanish team won with goals from Valeria del Campo (own), Aitana Bonmati and Esther González, all in the first half of the game. Still in the initial stage, Jennifer Hermoso wasted a penalty for Spain and the chance to turn the victory into a rout.
Group C is still composed of Zambia and Japan, who debut and face each other this Saturday, at 4 am (from Brasilia).

Groups A and B also went to the field and have already closed the first round. In the first group, Switzerland debuted with a 2-0 victory over the Philippines, with goals from Ramona Bachmann and Seraina Séverin Piubel, and took the lead. The European team is ahead of New Zealand on goal difference, while Norway is third still without a point.
Already in Group B, Nigeria and Canada were in a goalless draw and close the first round sharing the vice-leadership. Australia top the group with three points, while Ireland are fourth with no points earned.
